Beverly Craig, Senior Consultant

Beverly Craig helps organizations make better decisions about the way they use natural resources, including land, energy, and water. She combines her practical knowledge of sustainable development with innovative peer networking tools to promote high-impact social change in areas such as the redevelopment of environmentally contaminated brownfields, green buildings, and smart growth initiatives.

From 2006 to 2009, Beverly led Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation’s green building effort. With her help, this affordable housing non-profit developed several Energy Star and LEED buildings and initiated energy retrofits of multi-family buildings. Today, Beverly is actively engaged in efforts to craft a unified Massachusetts utility program for multi-family energy retrofit programs. Prior to her work in Boston, Beverly was the Brownfields Redevelopment Coordinator for the City of Milwaukee. Through Beverly’s leadership, the City of Milwaukee became a national leader in the area of cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated properties. The City boasts over $300 million in redevelopment investment on former brownfield sites and national models such as the Menomonee Valley sustainable business park.

Earlier in her career at the US Environmental Protection Agency, Beverly worked with business and government partnerships aimed at pollution prevention in the dry cleaning and printing industries.

Beverly is the recipient of several awards including the Truman Scholarship, the Switzer Fellowship, and an EPA Bronze Medallion for Superior Service. Beverly graduated from the University of Southern California and holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School.
